ScoutMob Co-founder Michael Tavani On Flash Commerce

The only way to really get to know your city is by getting out, being curious and exploring the scene for all it’s worth.

That’s the premise behind the wildly popular new flash commerce site ScoutMob, which sends unbeatable daily discounts to local businesses via email or to mobile app subscribers.

Atlanta-based ScoutMob has grown exponentially since its launch in January of this year. In this episode of DIG:This, Jeff Hilimire and Stacy Cohen talk to ScoutMob co-founder Michael Tavani about:

  • The viral nature of flash commerce sites like ScoutMob and how their deals get consumers to act in a short period of time.
  • How Groupon paved the way for localized flash commerce.
  • How ScoutMob works, including determining which deals to offer, how they create partnerships and why most deals are 50% off.
